A painter and art historian by trade, Tatajana Tatalovic a.k.a TATA approaches her design as a vast canvas, through which she is able to convey passion and emotion, using sometimes unexpected shapes and colors. Her silhouettes are feminine and sophisticated, yet at the same time grungy and punk. By hand–sewing each original piece herself, TATA imbues her clothes with a spirit which is at once modern, futuristic, precious and fresh, as well as classic in it’s elegance. This signature sensibility also translate to TATA’s other forms of endeavor- costume design, art direction and photography.
Since conception, the brand TATA has been acknowledged, appreciated and recognized for it’s forward-thinking contemporary design. TATA’s 2010 collection won the ELLE Magazine prize, given to the most significant fashion collection of the Belgrade Fashion Week and has participated in a number of prestigious fashion events.
